Adult Education and Training

Melco’s AET (Adult Education and Training) Initiative:

Melco in conjunction with a leading independent Adult Education and Training (previously ABET) provider, provides AET courses on the Melco premises,in a specially equipped class room, in order to assist Melco’s workforce with literacy and Adult Education.

The aim of the AET programme is both personal and educational development for Melco’s work force and this is achieved through the training priders holistic approach to education which ensures that learners are equipped with basic literacy and mathematics skills, and that they also develop the life skills necessary to apply their knowledge to their roles within Melco.

The AET course offers the Melco workforce a combination of computer-assisted and face-to-face interaction which provides our staff with a better access to learning. The programme is held during working hours and additional employees are engaged to relieve the learners during class time.

Melco currently has 59 employees enrolled in the AET programme.  More than 100 employees have graduated since the inception of this important initiative at Melco.   Subjects include; Communication (Level 2 & 4), Numeracy (Level 1 & 2), Mathematical Literacy (Level 3 & 4) and Life Orientation (Level 4).
