Operation & Maintenance

Melco conveyor idlers are supplied as greased for life units requiring a minimum of maintenance.
The reliable and long service of conveyor idlers is dependent upon the care taken during installation and operation.

High efficiency and minimal damage to ancillary equipment can be maintained by:
Ensuring that rolls do not run in jammed (either by extraneous material or damaged bracket conditions.)
Eliminating the use of high pressure hose down to clean conveyors.
Never aim cleaning jet into sealing system (roll end cap)
Always wash down with conveyor running.
When welding in proximity of idler rolls ensure that earthing does not occur through the roll.
Replace damaged rolls and or support bases timeously.
Imminent failure of the bearings is normally associated with a rise in operating noise levels.
Replace rolls with worn shells.
