Top Roller
The Top Roller is a new thermoplastic roller which is a light, strong, eco-friendly solution from Melco.
The lower weight with respect to a steel roller (about 50%) means that there is lower power consumption during the start/stop operation of the belt conveyor and therefore reduction of power requirements on the plant.
The lower weight also ensures easier mounting/maintenance operations, which prevents back injuries of the operator and guarantees a safer intervention, especially in applications where roller mounting or replacement might be critical (suspended belt conveyor, difficult access, long conveyor) Thus, the lower weight of the Top Roller ensures easier/cheaper transportation.
The low level of abrasion and corrosion of the roller (wear resistant) means that the roller has a longer life and there is lower maintenance of the whole plant.
The Top Roller is belt friendly due to the Roller being HDPE which will not wear the belt and the high resistance chemical agents ensure that the roller will not rust and will be suitable for a wide variety of applications.
The Top Roller has low noise emission due to the thermoplastic noise absorption and the roller is self-cleaning which ensures the preventing of build-up of material which is that main cause of belt mis-tracking.
The Top Roller has a lower running resistance sealing system which ensures lower motor torque needed in conveyor starts, lower motor power size, reduction of energy consumption of the belt conveyor and lower belt consumption.
