In order to ensure that the logistical aspects of the supply chain are adequately addressed, Melco personnel assist in auditing the current systems and procedures, and recommend appropriate changes, which enable reduction in costs. The following activities are undertaken with the assistance of suitable mine personnel:

Complete plant survey to establish details of all idlers used, record complete descriptions thereof, together with applicable article numbers.

Compilation of Parts Manuals, including identification of all idlers and quantities installed, and in stock.

Determine minimum stock levels to be held at site, and at Melco.

Monitor consumptions by product, by plant, by conveyor. In order to ensure that adequate life is obtained, all Melco rollers are date stamped. If necessary, product is returned to the Melco Research Test and Development Centre for inspection and compilation of a complete report, including reason for failure, and corrective action required.

Implement System to record usage and cost of rolls.
